SKELETON KEY

Hope all my trick-or-treaters had a spooky Halloween yesterday, I know I did. Took baby Honour trick-or-treating in the neiboughood last night even though he refused to put on his costume, which broke my heart but I quickly got over it. This was his very first trick-or-treating  adventure now that he's a "big boy".Hoping next year he’ll be more open to the idea of dressing up.

I did receive numerous emails from you guys asking me about what to wear for Halloween and what I will be wearing. I really think Halloween costumes are a personal preference on what to go as, but think sometimes some people take it a little to literal. The key is just having fun with it and let go. I decided to buy something that I would hopefully wear again. I got this skeleton bodycon dress from Topshop and paired it up with my old gladiator sandals from F21, accessorized the look with these skeleton hands sunglasses from Hot topic, and my half gloves are from eBay. The look came together pretty spooky if I must say. Well my girls and I decided to go trick-or-treating for drinks last Saturday night and thanks to my girl S’phe for letting me take pictures at her place and for being my photographer for the night.

SOLANGE KNOWELS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Well, it won’t be As.Fashion.As.Possible if I didn’t bring you the latest from a friend (in my head) Solange Knowles. The fashion’s new IT girl was in my home country South Africa to film the video for her new single “Losing you” in Cape Town. While she was there she also graced the cover for Elle South Africa Magazine for the November 2012 issue where she wore all local designers and the yellow background was the perfect way to reel in summer time Mzansi.

She collaborated with Magazine’s fashion editor and stylist, Asanda Sizani on her wardrobe, which captured the true ahem feshsters (feshin Hipsters) and the style is not too far from Miss Knowles in both sense of style and individuality. On the cover she was dubbed the “fashion’s new IT girl”. The woman has proven time and time again that she is her own person and the music video oozes just that, which was produced by Dey Hynes, aka blood orange and directed by Meline. Check out the pic and the music video which I absolutely fell in love with when she first posted it on twitter.

It seems like the magazine is celebrating some diversity on their cover for the November month: Halle Berry for InStyle, Oprah for Harper's Bazaar, Naomi Campbell for Harper Bazaar (Russia) and Rihanna for vogue.

HAPPY SUNDAY Friends, hung out with my girl O last night and I still cant believe how many times we get asked if we’re sister or not. ANNA DELLO RUSSO

Meet Anna Dello Russo, editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan. ADR was born in 1962 in Bari, southern Italy and currently resides in Milan. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Italian literature, but her love for fashion was sparked very earlier on as a child.

Anna went on to working 18 years as a fashion editor for Vogue Italia and 6 years at the male-focused L’Uomo from 2000-2006, after growing tired of working in a men’s world, she moved on to being a freelancer journalist and after that, she became the creative consultant and editor for Vogue Japan.

Despite being in fashion for 20 years, we actually got to know her through the internet and street-style bloggers. That’s when her style and love of fashion reached a more global audience outside of Italy. This is the woman that admitted to having over 4,000 pairs of shoes and listen to where she keeps her ever expending wardrobe, she has a second apartment “yes I said a second apartment” which is directly next door to her house in Milan. If you are a shopaholic Anna is a fashion Collector and invests in the best and key piece of fashion, she never wears the same outfit twice.

She has always made it known that she styles herself like she would a model and believes one should put their passion on oneself before translating it to others, true passionte fashionista maniac. In November 2010 Anna she came out with a fragrance named (Beyond) and the bottle in a form of a shoe, of course. But the most recent and exciting success from Anna has to be the fantabulous fashion party she threw right in Paris during Paris Fashion Week for the Launch of her accessories line for H&M, which will be out on the 4 October 2012, tomorrow… can’t hardly wait.

COLOUR CRASH

COLOUR CRASH
Burgundy, wine, maroon, oxblood, call it whatever you may. This colour is hot for fall, with it being cozy but still yet sophisticated. It has been seen popping up on many fall /2012 runways all over.
This prominent colour can be worn with any shades of gray, mustard yellow, nude, black, dark green and gold accessories bring out the richness in the colour. When creating a monochromatic look (head-to-toe in one colour or on shade of colour), burgundy can also give you a more slimmer and elongated silhouette, without having that harsh appearance that black sometimes gives, especially on fair skin tone women.

I’ve put together a few burgundy ideas up above:
If you are still a little hesitant being submerged in this colour, try injecting it throughout your accessories like a bag, sunglasses, jewelry ,lipstick, watch, shoes, hat, scarf, gloves and more. However if you are not afraid of colour you can give the monochromatic look a go in this dress and you can pair it up with these pointy toe heels and add on the hat or for a more cozy look you can try this graphic print sweater and pair that up with burgundy slacks or skirt with a same colour blouse and add on these wedge sneakers.
